If I am in the teacher-training track, and my thesis in pedagogy fails, can I defend my MAT which has received a passing grade?

Yes. Hovewer, if one’s MAT fails, s/he cannot take the oral exam even if his/her paper in pedagogy passed. Moreover, one may not receive a degree without meeting the requirements in pedagogy as well.
