Dr. Kalenda Eaton: “’The Just Return of Honest Industry’: Subverting the Economics of American Slavery from Belinda to Beloved”
Bio: Dr. Kalenda Eaton is an Associate Professor of English and Steinbrucker Chair of Humanities at Arcadia University (Pennsylvania, USA). Her research and teaching areas are African American Literature and Culture, Women’s Studies, and Pan African Studies. She is a Fulbright scholar and author of Womanism, Literature, and the Transformation of the Black Community, 1965-1980. Eaton is currently at work on several projects related to black subjectivity in the American West and women’s cultural production in the African Diaspora.
