Public Lecture by Gabriel Loiacono

Gabriel Loiacono, PhD (University of Wisconsin, USA and University of Pécs, Hungary, as Fulbright Visiting Professor) will give a lecture on Jefferson’s America: ‘the Best Poor Man’s Country?’

Gabriel Loiacono is an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where he teaches about early American history. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Ph.D. from Brandeis University. He is currently working on a book entitled Five Lives Shaped by the Poor Law: A History of Welfare in Early Republican Rhode Island.
